New, unseasoned pie irons need to be seasoned before cooking with them. This video will teach you the simple, yet necessary steps of seasoning your brand new pie irons. The entire process will take about 2 hours.
All you need is shortening or a non-stick cooking spray and a grill. It's also possible to season over a campfire.
